I have a 383 stroker motor in my 67 Camaro...
Its got a MSD 6A box and a MSD distributor w/ a built in coil.. My question is I have the ability to swap a MSD Pro-Billet dist. PN 85551 with a MSD Blaster 2 Coil for my distributor and cap...
Should I do this? Is there a big advantage to using this?

If it is the HEI billet dist. and your turning less than 6800 rpm, then I would keep the setup that you already have. The HEI has very good low rpm current output vs. the # 85551. If you plan on spinning this motor 7k plus then the 85551 would be the better high rpm dist. Or if you would like some more air cleaner room, then the 85551 is alot smaller in dia.

My motor can turn 7k+ but I dont go over 6200ish...
Is there any kinda spark diffeerence? I figured since its so much smaller (and I do need a lil more clearence on my firewall) that it would spin faster and create more spark or quicker spark... I figured that there had to be some reason the 85551 is around $300..... but im not to familar with ignitions..
thanx 4 the help!

The HEI has much more low rpm spark current and is more crossfire resistant due to the larger cap. The terminals are farther apart than the ones on the smaller cap 85551. Plus it sounds more like a street car and the vaccum advance on the HEI will give you better fuel economy.
