Default LB9 cam swap Q's

Me and a buddy of mine are thinking of doing a cam swap on his TPI 305 LB9.

My question is can you use the JPR rods to hold the lifters up like people do on the LSx motors?

Or do the heads have to be removed?

Thanks in advance.

Lifters in SBC cars do not require the head to be removed.
They can come out by just pulling them out with the rocker/pushrod out.
