8.1 in a 96 t/a Has anyone thought of doing this?Would there be any fitment issues being that it is a tall deck,that would differ from a regular bbc swap.Just a thought,I was searching ebay and found some for a pretty decent price and they seem to have great power potential.

What sparked this thought was a hot rod article in 2003.Gm made a performance version of this engine for marine racing that made 530hp /560ftlbs of tq with a 9.0:1 comp ratio.I think it was called the hp3 and the stock motor was the hp1.Like I said just a thought right now ,and I hope someone has done that way we could learn from their mistakes and save me money on all the tools I send into orbit in frustration.
Im almost done with that same swap actualy, like above just a BBC with fuel injection. my motor is an older block setup with big carb, i almost went ram jet but too expensive may upgrade later.. Its a good idea though if you wanta pop the hood and keep the LS theme,

Sorry correction,the article is in car craft you can see it on their web site under their tech articles. From what I saw there are some parts that would interchange with older big blocks but it looked to have cathedral style port like the ls1.Those head/cam packages are a good bit of money for those from raylar I think the company was called.
