350 SBC build
I just wanted some peoples opinion on the combo I'm putting together. I have a 350 V8 out of a 1990 Chevy full size passenger van. Its a TBI motor that was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago. I am going to put on Edelbrock E tec 200cc aluminum heads with 2.02/ 1.60 valves 64cc, HR cam with 234/238 .539/.548 specs 112LSA 107 ICL w/ 1.5 HS roller rockers. RPM air gap dual plane intake. This combo is going into a 1964 Buick Special. I have a rebuilt 700R4 trans that I'm going to put in it. I wanted to know if that cam is a good match for the setup. It was recomended by Summit. I/m thinknig about 3.90 gears and a 3000 stall speed converter. What will my compression ratio be with these heads? What kind of power will it make? What would the best carb for this combo be? I will also be spraying it in the future with 100-175 Shot. What changes will I have to do to spray it safely.
Thanks
Thanks

Really? What have the results been like? I have only read good things on the 200's. Its going to be mostly a track car. I plan on shifting at 6500. I thought the 170's with the smaller valves would be a lil on the small side for my power/ET goals.
I am going carb...prolly 750 4150 holley

With your motor only being 350 cid the 170's would be the better head. Hell even in an article that Super Chevy did about 8 month's ago, they used a set of 170's just to get their baseline for their 427 SBC. They thought that the heads would be the restriction point, but used them anyways, they were surprised to find out that they still made over 500hp and spun up to 6800 rpm. I have not heard any good reveiws on the 200's from the people I know that have them. They said if they could do things over again they would have just stayed with the 170's and used their money on something else. Run a search, I have read several other people on this forum give the same lack luster performance caution's.

1st-----your compression all depends on what pistons you have or get (dome, dish, or flat)..
2nd----you should have about 440-450 hp...
3rd----I think a 750 double pumper will work best for this combo
4th----if your going to spray it, your going to need at least forged pistons and also when your gettin ready to spray you might want to get a nitrous converter cause the 700r4 trannys are not the strongest out there..
hope this helps....good luck

They r flattop pistons with 4 valve reliefs. I bought a 750 edlebrock performer carb? I am not sure if I am going to keep it. Is it a good carb? I am kindaon a budget and didnt want to drop 500+ on a carb

assuming there 5cc flattops the ur compression should be right where u need it to be at like 10.1 to 1...personally im not a fan of the edelbrock carb but u should be able to get a holly 750dp in good shape for 150$ or so and the just get a 40 dollar rebuild kit...hope this helps and good luck
