Default Dart Big M Block

Hey everyone, before I make this purchase here in a month I was wondering if anyone here locally has used these blocks before and if so how was your experience? Also is there any sponsors on here that have built any of these? BTW this is going in a 89 Foxbody.

The nova by the way got sold couldnt pass it up...

Thanks,

Chase HMPTV

The Dart Big M seems to be the choice out of the affordable iron blocks . Dart also makes a Race Series that has a lot of available options if you want to build something crazy , they even offer an upgrade to CGI .

.

Best block for ~$2200 you can buy. I use the billet splayed caps, but depends on power. You will love the block. Just a tip, if not using a big chief style, drill the head, extra insurance is worth a few bucks. Good luck.

Good block and so is the race block, I was told by a very good local engine shop (nothing but big power stuff) to go with the Dart unless you want to spend the money on aluminum.

They said there was very little machine work that would be needed unless you wanted to go all out.

On all the Dart blocks SBC and BBC we have preped for other shops and engine builders we have had to line hone, clearance the lifter bores, deck and blue print bore and plate hone.

We are set up to blue print bore the cam tunnels for roller cam beariings and some of the blocks we machine them for 55MM roller cam bearings or bore the cam tunnel to 2.283 and use a babbit bearing and use a 55MM cam core and in most cases we bore thel ifter bores to .904 as well.

Good luck with your build Carl
