There is a sticky at the top you can read. Carb or fuel injection will determine how much cutting you have to do to the cowl. Get a BMR k-member specifically made for the swap and it will be tons easier. Your HP goals are they flywheel or rear wheel? Transmissions will be easy, LT1 T56 will bolt right up as well as any auto trans, LSx will take a little work.

Powerglide is easy, just get the right crossmember. To the wheels isn't hard either, in the big bock shootout Paul Pfaff did a 9.5:1 454 that made 657 flywheel. That was using stock parts and a streetable hydraulic roller H/C set up. Only hard part will be cutting the cowk for your carb and then your fuel system since you'll be running a low pressure system.

The ease at which you can make horsepower and torque. You can take a stock BBC and throw a H/C on it and make 600+ very easy. LT1 to get to 600+ would take A LOT and wouldn't be as driveable as a BBC.

My 468 BBC from what I can tell is making 500+rwhp on the motor (raced a 350hp car when I was in second gear and he was in first and put an instant 5 cars on him). Keep in mind with with out of the box c port GM aluminum heads and out of the box holley strip dominator with a BG 850 carb that he ported to flow over a 1000CFM. Then you hit it with the two stages......

Once I have it gone threw and ported and have some things updated it will make 600 to the wheels on the motor.

Keep in mind this engine was built back in the 80's and cost next to nothing to build, just a lot of good parts matched together.

Car traped at 136 spraying a 150 shot out of second gear and will handle a lot more bottle.

Pump gas car but it likes 110 even on the motor, MPG is around 7-10.

BBC's drink more gas but they sound KILLER, the sound turns heads............

My cam is not huge either, big enough that I can't run power brakes but not big enough for a vac pump.

cool any links to good engine builders. world products wanted a little more $ than Im ready to spend right now. Probley just have to go your route and grab parts here and there. Im not the best mechanic so I'd still like to find a complete engine somewhere if I can. Id like to have the car up and runnin by april. Any ideas
