Default Some help with plug choice please

I'm in need of new plugs and I'm thinking i've been running the wrong ones for a while (but they are what I was told to run). I'm currently running NGK v-power racing plugs, number 8 heat range, and non-projected tip. I'm thinking the gap is wrong or they need to be hotter because they're coming out completely black, but still clean.

With this setup, what plugs should I be running and what gap (approximately)
383 stroker SBC, 11.5 comp, forged pistons, Large cam, trick flow alum heads, msd 6AL, Blaster 2, Ultra 40 wires,

They were gapped at 45, and non-projected. Planning on running the juice I'm thinking I should stay non-projected but what gapping should I be doing.

Thank you for your input. Do you mind giving me a slight explanation of your choice? I've never ran autolite plugs. I've been using NGK for years.

I have been using the autolite plugs for the last 15 years in everything from n/a to n2o,sc and turbo sbc's bbc's ls1's ford's and every other domestic engine.Probably used a couple of thousand sets with no problems. Not to say that i havent tried others-ngk's,brisk silver,ac delco, even champion-always to go back to autolite.I use that plug number in alot of the higher hp and n20 small and bigblocks+some turbocharged motors. And that gap works well until you get into super high compression or forced induction

Nice! Thanks for that, it helps alot.
I'll have to return the NGK's to jegs for some autolites.

I've been reading a lot of N20 ls1 users are running TR6's but I'm assuming the autolite are non-resistor plugs and I'd rather stick with that.

Ditto with Shawn on the Autolites and the Race plugs in particular. Ive been using them without failure for going on 30 years and unlike NGK (Japanese) they are made in the USA.

I run NGK R's but Autolites are just as good. For the heat range you just have to kep looking at the plugs and see how they are burning.
