Default oiling circuit

can somebody describe the oiling system of a typical v-8?
where is the oil pressure sending unit located?
and how has the oiling system changed over the years, from the traditional 350 to the LS1, and LS7 (dry sump but still want to know the route the oil takes through the block).
and can somebody explain the term "priority main" and what blocks it applies to?

I remember reading theres' an oil restrictor used in the LS1, I forget where, can somebody touch on that and it's purpose?

.

I know a little about BBC. Priority mains, means they get oil 1st. Don't know if stock late model BBC have switched over,
but all race blocks pretty much have. To get oil path, you should just google each make & model.
Basically, crank, cam, lifters, rockers, pan.
