You must use a special flywheel from centerforce i believe it is. That si a future plan for me as well.

I used a flywheel from Mcleod when I put a LT1-style T56 behind my BBC. I ended up using a LT1 style clutch as well. I'll see if I can find the parts number I used. I know they also have flywheels to allow you to use a LS1-style set-up too.

Just a little FYI... I had a t56 behind my 355 w/ around 350-375 hp... It was a 1997 tranny and I had it in a 1966 c-10. It did fine for a few months and then snapped. If your sticking a lt1 style t56 behind a BBC with anything done to it, you might want to have the tranny gone thru and beefed up a bit. Just my .02

start off with a viper t56 and save yourself the headache of buying, breaking, and rebuilding close to viper specs and having way more than the viper t56 to begin with.

Allot, you are some times to get lucky and find a good core and build it for 1000$ and be good for 700 HP.

Six Speeds Inc (formerly T56 Rebuilds) can pop in a Viper mainshaft for ya. D&D did mine for me, but I here great things about Joe and Amber at SSI. Should hold up for you after that... Don't need a special flywheel though. I run a 1/4" spacer on my slave cylinder to make up for the thinner flywheel (making the clutch sit further ahead thus the fork further back). Makes the mechanical advantage a little better anyway for my quick tap on the clutch. This is with an LT1 clutch and T56 BTW. Mcleod has even finally made a run of SFI bellhousings for LT1s if you want to abuse it. Spec Stage 4+ here.
