Default budget 355 build

alright first off my budget on my motor is 2500. I am buying a 81 z28 that needs a motor and i have a choice between two of them. One is a goodwrench with the 10066036 casting and one is a motor that has a 3970010 which is a 68-78 350 it also has a 15S426231 and a V04300HA on it. I am leaning towards that one which is the better platform. I want at least 400 hp to the wheels and to maybe run nitrous later on. i might go 383 instead of 355 what is better for budget build

go with this one esspecially if it's a 4 bolt block. it should have a higher nickel content in the block which is stronger and wears better on the cylinder walls.

On 2500$, it is going to be kid of close between machine work and all the parts. Vortec heads with a 230/236 @ .050 cam with 500ish lift can make 450 FWHP and 500 FTlbs , in that heavy *** car of yours it will run good but the extra for the forged pistons, rods and crank if you want it to live for a long time is going to cost 2500$ for the parts and ballancing.

010 casting is the best bet if you have on available. Heads in the 180cc runner, 64cc chamber range. Cam in the 23x*/52x range, compression 10:1-11:1, dp hi rise intake and a 700 or so cfm carb and you will be good to go. For the power and budget you have, hyper pistons, pm rods and a stock crank will do the job. Make sure to keep the intake runners in the head in check, to big and it will kill low end and will be a dog till you get it wound up.

He said it had around 460 hp

He says it has less than 1000 miles on it and it was in a AMX that ran 11's.

i would make sure it runs good before i paid for it. sounds like a good price if all is good with it, but definitely check everything over and don't wind up getting screwed.

call a lawyer and pick his brain about it, if you walk into a officer they will charge ya. if ya just call and ask they will usually give ya the advice ya need

well my dad is a law freak and gets out of all his tickets im sure he will know what to do. and for some reason i didn't like the motor i should be able to sell it for more since it would be in the car running.

Im also a little confused on the manual valve body. is it gonna be like my 4L60e when i shift manually or wil it have better response. the turbo 400 also has a 3000 stall
