Red River Raceway closed forever?
A friend of mine informed me that RRR had shut down and was for sale. I'm shocked...my car is almost done and I was planning on running it there a couple times a month. I live in the Shreveport/Bossier area so the track was really close.
Where are the Northwest Louisiana guys raceing now? I know of Prescott Raceway up in Arkansas but it is a good ways away and I hate 1/8th mile tracks

There is someone in the process of buying it, so we're told. You can go to Rusk, Tx. it's about 100 miles(1/4 mile). Prescott, Ark. about 120 miles (1000ft track) or you can go to Pine Valley in Lufkin and it's a 1/4 mile track about 110 miles. And there is Twin City in Monroe (1/4) that is about 100 miles or so. It may be closed up for good now too. I will be going to Pinevalley, Twin City and Prescott and try and avoid Rusk because the good folks who run RR down are now running Rusk. Look for it to be dead in a year or two

They never wanted to have any kind of racing going on. They thought just running TnT every weekend would cut it and that ain't gonna cut it there. They never had any races because they didn't want to pay for insurance. They were not even willing to try anything other than TnT

Naaaa, I wasn't being a smart ***, just saying we gotta get you guys coming out with us more often. We need to get us enough street guys to have a regular class running. We were thinking if we got more interest we'd try to do one big race a month instead of 4-5 a season. We have about 10 of us that go on a regular basis right now. Back 4-5 years we had about 20 that would show up every weekend.
