ls7 lifters?
You can use LS7 lifters, but the pushrod cup sits 50 thousands higher than LS1/6 units requiring a 50thousands shorter pushrod to maintain proper preload.
I'd post the link, but this i-phone doesn't let me copy and paste.
If you go to www.corvetteforum.com and look in the c5 tech you will find thread on the 1st or 2nd page. It has "LS7 lifter" in the title.. Pic included!

I'm talking about THIS particular LS1 engine that simply swaps lifters with an identical GM head gasket..... the LS7 pluger is going to be 50thousands higher than the LS1 lifters that came out.
Not talking about milling heads, decking a block, swapping heads, changing head gasket brands.... I'm just referring to the plunger cup height from an LS7 compared to an LS1 lifter.

9/10 times, an LS7 will require a slightly shorter pushrod due to being ~.050-.060 tall in the cup. I did a setup a 3 months ago w/ LS7 lifters, heads decked .015, cam motion cam and it took a 7.325 pushrod.
Only way to know, is measure. PERIOD. There is no guess work in checking lifter preload & pushrod length........if you want to do it right that is.
