Default Real Everyday Drivers

How many of you would do a 12 hour drive for a car meet? If you could, would you? I'm talking about you having that much faith in your cars to trust them on the road for 12 straight hours, through rain, heat, etc. If so, post up, I may have a challenge for you.

I could do it, kh504 could do it, but I will b the 1st to admit if it were 90ish outside and traffic was heavy, the a/c has to go off and the windows down. I will be making several trips to gulf shores in the vette (almost every month) for the next few years and the only thing I worry about is a flat tire or road debris

drove my camaro (ls1 6spd with 342 hp) from north alabama to DC then back 7 days later. only thing i had to stop for was gas. never had any trouble and recorded 26 mpg round trip. figured that was pretty good considering i did almost 90 there and back. some of the most fun i've ever had. these cars were built to drive. dont be afraid to use them

Atlanta to north Ohio and Atlanta to south Texas trips have been no problem, but I damn sure wouldn't drive that far for a car meet.

I agree with all of yall. Well, my wife and I did it, 12hrs one way, to Myrtle Beach, SC., handled it like a pro too. Would we do it again? Don't know (kinda doubt it), but the cars did it with virtually no problems (got about 25mph with both camaros), going and coming.

You obviously have never been on the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour ... it is the ultimate "car meet" ... some people come from the west coast to the east coast to participate on the power tour...or from Canada ... there we some folks from South Africa on this years tour...last year some from Austrailia...it is all about the quality of the event..which in reality is about the quality of the people that you meet along the way ... in 2006 the tour started in Florida and ended in New Jersey and I met a guy who drove from Seattle to Orlando to run the whole tour... we hung out together the whole tour and now I have a new good friend...if you have never done it you need too ...

PS From your sig I see that you drive a furd which probably would not survive that long of a drive..you are better off staying home.

Drove my previously flooded 98 SS from Houston to Oklahoma (Ike) last year about a 9hr drive each way at 85 with a/c on and it was an absolute blast. Averaged 19 mpg's with small cam, stall and 373's. Yes I would drive 12 hours for a meet.

You drive so much because you ran out of beer.
