MY Trans Am Has Been Stolen, Help 2002 CETA
#22
Where was it stolen from? I just bought some wheels from a guy that had his car stolen. I go to Lafeyette and New Orleans alot... I am going to park only in the covered garages in New Orleans from now on.

^^^ Won't help much man, best thing you can do is rent a car to drive down here! I wouldn't bring it if you plan on keeping it. The guys that are doing this are either on these forums or are closely connected to people on these forums

^^^ That would work if people actually gave a ****, nobody cares until it's their car that gets stolen. Funny thing is though is that the "heavily modded" cars don't seem to get touched at all

I have a update for you guys, I apreciate the interest in this thread, at least it gives me a sort of realase, even though this would have been better if it never happened of course.
My Geico insurance adjuster was allowed to make a estimate on the car today, i still have not seen it or even pictures of it, so all I have to go on is the estimate. But I talked to the guy several times and went into great detail the conditon of the car and he sounded like a pretty stand up honest guy that knew what he was doing.
He found no paint or interior damage at all, the 60GB ipod was still hooked up to the adapter in the center console, He said it cranked right up and seemd like it ran fine. Interior was clean and did not smell like smoke or anything.
The damage, Both right side wheels are rashed but repairable, and both rt side Goodyear Eagle F1 GS's are blown.
He came up with 1170$ for basically two new tires, two wheels being refinished, and a alignment.
Not sure what my insurance is going to do as far as storage and towing fees, remember I am 365 miles away, I would hate to have to come out of pocket and loose work time picking the car up and paying to store it, that would get real expensive real fast. The 500$ deductable I have to cover is bad enough. He told me there was a real good wheel repair specialist in Memphis, good, because I know there is no place like that down here in Shrev/Bossier.
I still have to get a copy of the police report and get it to geico before they will autorize any payment on the claim.

Not this time, apparently the theif that took my car was a local neigborhood punk, a 25 year old jobless bum that had nothing better to do than stalk the neigborhood looking for trouble to get into. I got his adress through the police report and dropped by his house on the way home, when I did I was suprised, there was a truck and trailer parked in the front yard with two pepole moving stuff out of the house. I questioned them if they knew the thief, they explained to me that he was renting the house and had not paid rent in two months and that the house was trashed, they were pissed. I told them the story about my car getting stolen and they should probably contact the police so they can maybe stack some more charges on or something.

Glad this ended "well" for you. Awful situation, but you are so lucky to be getting it back. My stomach would be turning at the thought of some ******* having his way with my baby.

I need some help from a member in the Memphis area to go take a look at the car and maybe take pics of damage for me. The local Police Department here in La, has pretty much washed there hands of the case now that the car was found in MS. If insurance does not help me out with getting the car back to La and fixing it, I may be stuck going to get it myself. Trying to get a intial idea of the damage to the car.

I would highly reccomend a new security system man. Either way I am glad your getting her back in what I would consider "great" shape.
