Default Need local cam install!

I'm looking for someone to do a cam swap in my DD. I've already purchased a 228r, springs, pushrods, oil pump, timing chain, gaskets. That kinda ate up the budget, and I don't really have the money to pay a few of the more expensive shops around to do the work =[

I'm looking for someone or a shop experienced with LS engines to do my cam install. I'm located near the Charlotte and Columbia areas. I would be willing to drive a couple of hours. Let me know on here or in PM on some prices and places. Thanks!

Also, I'm going to need a tune. Suggestions on a good place with a low price would be great! Thanks again!

My mechanical abilities are very very very limited and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing the install myself. I wish I could, it would save me tons of money.

PCMforless did my tuning they are in Mooresville. Tunes are all going to be about the same.

If you can't afford to do it right, I know it sounds hard but just wait, don't let someone shady hurt your car because of your impatiences.

Just a quick FYI, if you've got 7.4 pushrods for that cam you need to send them back. That cam usually calls for a 7.425 or 7.450 pushrod. Any of the reputable shops mentioned in this thread will be able to measure and tell you exactly what you'll need.

Good luck.

I figured I would bump this thread. I see everybody gave answers to Charlotte area, but is there any good shops in Columbia? I'm looking to get my valve springs replaced in the wife's TBSS.

Valve springs are simple to do yourself, especially in a huge engine bay like a blazer has. If you want to make the trip to savannah I'll do all sixteen for $40, it will take about 1-1.5 hours

I guess I could try to tackle them by myself. Looking around online, it look TDC method is the easiest. What all would I need for install besides the valvespring kit? I already got a set from Brian Tooley racing.
