@Suncc49~ I know you posted about a year ago, but @SCott5 is right. Stephen at SSLSX did my car as well. He's right up off 85 in Concord. He's is real good with LS base engines. He's doing my cam once the car is paid off.
I ran with an orange 2013 ZL1 in Fayetteville the other night. Seeing is he posted on here. Hoping to get up with him to check out his car. It's pretty fast.

Emissions
Hey All,
Checking in from Charlotte!
Was wondering if anyone could provide insight on the "visual" part of emissions inspection. Considering deleting Air and EGR and doing headers (with cats since that's pretty easy to spot that they're missing). I have the codes tuned out, do you think a shop would notice these missing?

In NC...Any car/ truck 20 years or older...Doesn't have to pass an emissions test....Requires Safety inspection only....Lights..Brakes..Tires...windshield wipers..ETC...
If the car in question is newer than 2001...Then yes everything will have to be in place...The inspection machine will be plugged into the OBD 2...Diagnostic port...and if the emission controls are not in place or has a check engine light on...It Will Not pass the State inspection....They do not even have to do a visual on it.... As everything will show up through the diagnostic port...

I don't know if having the codes tuned out will fool the emissions test machine or not. I know that tuning them out modifies the car's computer to ignore those sensors but idk if the emission tester looks for the car's computer to tell it that everything is in place and working (i.e. just looks for trouble codes in the car's system) or if the tester "knows" what is supposed to be there and looks for it independently from the car's system. Plus I think Charlotte has the sniffer test as well so that is another issue. As far as passing just the visual part, it all depends on how well the tech knows and does his job. Some shops are simply more by the book than others.
