Default Just got back from Commerce

I had my first ever runs tonight at Commerce. Only got in three passes before the rain set in. Anyway here are the results:

1st pass:

RT - 1.452
60' - 2.198
1/4 - 14.2 @ 93.75

2ND pass:

RT - .998
60' - 2.127
1/4 - 13.65 @ 102.58

3RD pass:

RT - 1.285
60' - 2.191
1/4 - 13.79 @ 102.27

Overall I am very pleased, considering I am accelerating with my hands...I thought it was pretty decent.

werd those are good #'s, commerce aint that bad other than the line. my 00 with 2.73's ran like 13.797 with similar mods. 4th run after bille lawler put my mods n tune on ran 12.163 there, and with the good work he did, i was caught way off gaurd compared to the 13.7 experience. Had to learn the meaning of a burnout quick.

My hptuners 1.5 (i've got a couple of widebands too) MY 2000 should be back soon if you ever want to dick around with the ecm.

ps whatsup with that linux haxor sig? you eleet or something? i was thinking bout making some changes to the firmware like modifying the trans computer to do a few things more interesting if you are into programming/microcontrollers. 65332 TPU is an interesting cpu

I would love to play around with hptuners. Let me know when you get it set up. As far as the sig goes, I used to play internet securiity anbd I fell in love with Linux...consequently the nick just stuck from there on. I did a descent amount of programming and was getting jy PhD is scientific comouting about 4 years ago so I know a pretty good bit about hardware/software, but never even thoguht about playing around with the 65332...hell I know what I'm doing this weekend!!

As far as mods go, do you think it'd be better to get LTs/ORY next or a new stalll? I have read that a good verter can shave .5 off of an et easilly. Add a good set of nittos and I'd love to see the 12's...any opinions?

lnuxhakr if you decide to go with a ORY I have a 3" Kook's ORY I''ll sell you for real cheap. I also have a bullit muffler to go with it.
IMHO I like a LTs/ True Duals set up. I love the way it sounds and feels great.
If you want to check out the Y I'll bring it to Hooters next week.

if you get a stall like mine you'll need nitto's for street (safety) and ET's for the strip, and a badass cooling system for the tranny (not just a cooler). your city mpg will suck butt if you do any of that with a decent sized stall. the tci ssf3500 is an excellent choice for stock internals (no cam) kinda car, a little undersized for cam or cam/heads. It's pretty stupid to drive on street tires with the stall you will be on LOW TRAC or sideways if you ever get pissed at someone and throttle in too much. damn nitto's are just so expensive my last set went down to the marker line at about 7500 miles (as in dont even think about using them in the rain). ouch.

I do not like the pacesetters, many difficulties with them during install, not worth going cheap on, imo.

When you get the stall and the verter your car will be so damn loud it is not funny. I've been working on reprogramming my car for street duty putting back in more of the tq mgmt because if i lay on it with street tires it goes full retard and kicks your foot off the pedal on every shift which seems ridiculous.

once you reach lockup speeds any sized converter is cool, figure 45+ you won't know its there, but in the city here its <45mph cause APD does not like loud stalled fbodies thats FOR damn sure.

Ben get some more base line runs before you do any mods, your times will get better and you will have a more realistic idea of how much each/every mod helps ya.

Yea...I think I am gonna go ahead with the LTs as soon as I pass emissions in December. I think that would be less evasive than the TC and possibly a little easier on the trans temp. Anyway I will be first in line when Commerce reopens. Until then I can practice staging and better my ET and RT.

thanks for the advice

It's OBDII, what are you worried about emissions for? No codes = GOOD to GO.

yea, but I have to pay to have those codes deleted. If I go ahead and pass emissions now (b'day is first of the year) then I can go ahead with the install and put off the code deletion for a couple of months. Saving mone = good!

emissions are valid for like a year or more until you use the emissions thing in georgia dude. i suggest passing now, then put the stuff on, cause the readiness bits can be a bear to get all str8. you can't just clear the codes and drive and pass you gotta get all but 2 readiness bits "ready" and if you've jacked up the egr/air or your evap is like mine it takes FOREVER to get enough ready. im not sure if the law has changed on the 2000 model car, the 2001+ only can have 1 readiness not ready.

no codes either way

That was my original plan...to pass emissions now, then mod in Dec. or Jan. That way I'd be good for a year.
