i've been through there i think. steele didn't close. they lost there NHRA and IHRA sanctioning. which basicly means that there won't be any good races there anymore. they still have NOPI and some other rice show there but nothing big that we would be interested in. it's still pretty good to get you time in though cause there's usually not a lot of people there. would you happen to know one of my friends that comes up there? he has a 70's Nova that was just primer gray but is now silver. it had a built 350 but has a 454 in it now. he runs in the 11s. his name is mark. short guy. real funny. just wondering cause he's almost always there. neways take it easy man...

They probably will be since I don't think they closed like they said they were going to. The track is okay, just the boards don't work half the time, or the tree doesn't work, last few times I was there its been a waste of time, nothing worked right and they get the box too wet you almost burn out into the wall even when you "try" to go around the water.
Anyways maybe we can all meet up one friday night for T&T.

Hey guys, Blount county here. Hey Vann, I met you a couple of times at steele...finally took the v-6 deep in the 13's, but I need a little more power. Working on an engine swap now (or at least rounding up parts with not much luck). Anyway, I'm gonna try to get to Montgomery sometime to run before the swap...Let me know when a bunch of you guys are heading down there and I'll round up some of the local f-bodies and get down that way.

Thanks, yeah I've been on here about twice a day looking for parts. I had been looking for a wrecked car to swap everything, but that isnt working out too well. I've been buying parts here and there, but I still need a motor and trans. I'm going from 3.8 A4 to a ls1 m6. Surely the Z will hit 10's...I know you came close a few nights I was at the track. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

I called the number to the track awhile back and all the rain we had must have messed up the repairs they recently finished, although I haven't been by to check or anything. As warm as it's been the past few days and being cold at night, would be perfect to be out racing. I guess most of the tracks will be closing soon if they aren't already though.

I went to steele's website today and Denise from there had posted on their forum that a contracting company had came and looked at the damage last week.... so that means they haven't even started fixing it yet.
