Anyone doing the track day at Road Atlanta on Sunday? I was just rereading the info, and sounds like I might be safe to go in the beginner class. Never spent any time on a road course though, so I don't wanna run the risk of messing my car up. Can anyone give me some feedback? I definately plan on going through with the parade laps, but I think I might wanna get a little faster than what they'll be going.

I'm going to be out there in the afternoon session. You shouldn't have any problem though. They don't make you drive harder than you want to drive. Just keep the adrenalin in check and you should be fine. I do think that you will want something more than the parade laps will allow though. Just save the 35 bucks or so from the parade laps and spend it on the track day.
Look for me out there and give me a shout, I'll be in either the black Formula Firehawk with gunmetal grey wheels or you might see me in my wifes grey 85 Mustang LX. See ya there and hope you have fun.

Man, I was cleaning my car,, had the doors, trunk and hood open. It started getting just a bit dark, slightly windy and BOOM! All heck let loose! The car wash I was at is directly across from a big construction lot full of sand and red clay. Right before it started raining, a hellava wind came up and blew that sand and clay all over the place. Before I could shut up the car, the interior was full of the crap and I could hardly blink my eyes because of the dirt.
I had just finished my waxing and was wiping down the interior. Two hours shot to hell! Oh-well, "**** happens". I think I'll head over there anyway and get registered so I won't have to fiddle with it tomorrow.

We did get three sessions instead of the promised two so that was a good thing and I did have alot of fun out there. I hope to get back over there before the end of the season and take another track day. The instructor hinted around that I may be able to take one more track day then he would sigh me off. On the other hand, maybe he was just trying to make a feller feel good.

In our group of five car we had two C5s, a LS1 Camaro SS and a Porsche. Guess which one was the slowest.

Wouldn't mind taking the car out there, or Barber... My two favorite tracks, I'd reccomend a trackday at Barber if you get a chance. Smooth, elevation changes, fun...
