You can hear a slight ticking sound on my car because of the high lift of my cam (almost like a sewing machine).

The hotcam should have the same valve train noise as the stocker....NONE.

Just curious as what the install price was?

That's normal man, don't worry about it. The valvetrain on these cars are loud with any kind of aftermarket cam. Some are louder than others, you just have to deal with it.

Have to disagree here, I have installed 3 Hotcams and had one in my car for 7K and none of the 4 has had ANY noise, the ramp rates are just like stock, hell thats why you can go a lifetime on the same springs, Sly no disrespect but that should be a damn quiet cam.

I'm not sure about the LS6 springs, but aren't they also stiffer than the stock ones? Meaning they could be the cause of the noise?

That is correct Becky on the LS6 springs but my point stands, you can go 100K on the LS6 springs with the HC. My guess is that there might be a rocker arm that didn't get the full 22 lbs's. I mean the LS6 engine has higher lift on the stock cam than the HC does and nobody complains about VT noise on stock LS6's that I know of... If its making noise I would just check the TQ on the RA's and if that checks out well OK then...

I'm not saying I disagree with you SS Rally Red, from the numerous installs I have done some cars are louder than others. Like you stated I would double check the torque on all of the rockers, if they all turn out good then he's just one of the more unfortunate ones with louder valvetrain. For instance the cam I used to run had quite a bit of valvetrain noise on my engine, then when I sold it to a friend and put it in his car, it was much quieter with nothing being different.
