Yeah, the traction problems got worse when I added the bigger cam and 4.11 gears!

With the cold pavement now on the street 1 & 2nd gear is worthless, 3rd gear breaks loose if you floor it above 4,000 rpm.

Yeah, that was also the night I broke 3rd gear, bent the shift fork, destroyed the 3-4 syncro assembly. I turned a horrible 13.0 but with a nice 112 trap speed. (No traction on the line) 60 ft was 2.4!

Yeah, I won't even go back to commerce to run the car. Just to hang. Since rebuilding the tranny I've added the heavier cam and 4.11 gears and I still have the same street tires I've been running for the last two years.

If the car doesn't sell the first mod will be to have the rear rims widened to 11" , spacers and get the corresponding rubber.

Yeah thats the same here, not unless I do some work to the car, commerce on friday night= traction night mare. But you probably could get a low 12 with what you got now.... if you hooked up. What you think about those 4.10's? Ive got 3.73 and have been thinking about the 4.10s who did you get to put them in, how much and did they do a good job?

Blackbird, I'd keep what you have gear wise. I like the 4.11's on a stockish motor, but the traction is silly since I've added some oats to it. If the motor was a mild bolt on I'd be happy going to 4.30's. Not kidding. @ 70mph 6th gear is turning around 2,100 right now. Not bad.

If I keep the car forced induction is a MUST. I want to hear turbos spooling up. I'm going to end up with a 12 bolt and I'm going back to 3.42's.

Cool. I am still planning on GMMG stage II, so I was wondering about that cause I already have some traction issues. I've heard for the street, 3.73's are hard to beat and I really can't complain I Guess. But hell the car will go over 160mph, thats alot of top end I hardly ever use. God only knows what kinda top end the Hawk would have with twins spools and 3.42's

Whoa yeah, I'd love 2 hear a twin turbo spool up on the hawk!!!! There was a video floating around with a twin turbo firebird racing a Gsxr, man I would like to find that video again, it was kick azz.
