Default Darlington Drag Strip is re-opening

Title says it all http://www.darlingtondragway.com . Great to see 1/4 track with some history is going to be reborn. It wil probably take some time?

I used to run there when the IHRA Winter Nationals were there long long time ago..as I remember it was an OK track..

There are definately better tracks...but local 1/4 mile tracks in SC are few and far bewteen. For me Jackson is 2.5 hours drive as is Rockingham (which is a nice track) and Commerce, GA also nice. They are repaving parts of Darlington (330' out).

It is kind of sandy there..when it was windy the sand would get out on the track..and you know what that does..hope they have cured that issue..

I drive by there two or three times a week. The new owners seem to be addressing most of the old problems.
