DONT CUT THE SPRINGS! Trust me! It's a lot better to just spend the $200 on a set of lowering springs! Save yourself the trouble! It will ride like **** and is just an all-around bad idea!

i've heard of cars running better at the track on cut stock springs then lowering springs. just food for thought.

Cutting the springs is perfectly fine. I ran lowered F-bodies w/ cut springs for YEARS.

For the ride height you're trying to acquire, just cut 1 coil off all the way around. Do not use anything to cut the springs that creates a lot of heat. Band saws work GREAT for this type of ****.

Hell, Jack cut the springs on most of his cars and they ride BETTER than un-cut. Use a cut-off wheel and don't use a torch. It's the heat that screws up springs, not cutting them.

I run them on my car, I have to. Ive yet to find the perfect spring for the added weight on the front of my car. SO after trying many different ones I dediced to cut the stockers. Looks better then all the ones Ive tried. It doesnt ride like ****, like most people claim.

I guess that's the problem.. we did it on a Civic to obtain a 3" drop, and used a torch...

Can't you pull out the little rubber isolators and drop down 1/4-1/2"?

Might want to try that first and see if it fits your needs.

i went ahead and took off exactly one coil in the front because i have the 17 and 18 z06 wheels, and i have to admit those 17's dont look so baby anymore but somethin up there is knockin now when i hit bumps almost like a bad ball joint but i think its the sway bar bushing. not sure. also i couldnt get the spring out of the strut a turned the bolt a thousand times and it never moved so i clamp down on the compressor and took a cut off wheel to the coil exactly next to where the other one seats and i chopped it and took it out, loosened up the compressors and wal-ah lowered strut..,

Simple. Lift he car off the ground a leave the diff hanging. Take a prybar and pry where the spring meets the axles. They just pop right out. There isn't much tension so it not really dangerous. Stay out of it way, though. Usually you can pry it off it's perch and then yank hard to drag it out of the area. After you cut the top of the sring put the rubber isolator back on and have one wrap of duct tape the hold the rubber isolater in place. Then snake it back and pry it back onto the axle perch. Done.

Who cares about them? How many of us have mullets anyway?

"They" can't even change their own spark plugs. They have to take their cars to dealers everytime the hood needs to be popped. **** on 'em.
