Need some help folks
This past weekend my family got some bad news.....my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer....she's putting on a good face and is very upbeat and is going to fight this mess but she needs some help....if you pray, please say one for her....
She's gona beat this stuff and get back to normal soon.....she's scheduled for surgery tomorrow for the docs to get a good look at what she's dealing with and will probably be back under the knife next week for the real deal where they'll get rid of the cancer.....
It's gonna be a long road and she's gonna be just fine, but please say a word for her.....and help her out with your prayers.
Thanks ya'll,
Greg

The Whipple procedure today is very similar to Whipple's original procedure. It consists of removal of the distal half of the stomach (antrectomy), the gall bladder (cholecystectomy), the distal portion of the common bile duct (choledochectomy), the head of the pancreas, duodenum, proximal jejunum, and regional lymph nodes. Reconstruction consists of attaching the pancreas to the jejunum (pancreaticojejunostomy) and attaching the common bile duct to the jejunum (choledochojejunostomy) to allow digestive juices and bile to flow into the gastrointestinal tract and attaching the stomach to the jejunum (gastrojejunostomy) to allow food to pass through.
Using modern operating techniques, mortality from a Whipple procedure is around 5% nationwide....
She's got a hard road ahead......recovery is gonna be while.....
Thanks to everyone for the kind words....
Greg

Btw, My uncle was diagnosed with 4th stage brain cancer last year with little chance of survival. He's doing really well now and has made a full recovery. I understand the hardship you are dealing with. I hope that your strength will carry you family through this all.
Thanks for the thoughts,
Greg
