Default engine help(ken)

ok well im gonna be perfectly honest, i have no idea whats wrong with it this time. i thought it was electrical since i went thru two batteries in about 10 days, but that ended up just being a quick fix w/ an ipod adaptor and now the battery is fine but the engine still dies at like 4k rpm(give or take a little). just starts hesitating and bucking like its trying to shutdown almost the same as when tcs takes over...i shift to the next gear and everything is fine. we hooked up a voltmeter and even loaded it up a little while it was parked and there was no drop. any other ideas what could be wrong? no lights come on when this happens, no funny gauge activity, nothing.

What about clogged cats. Mine did the same thing and it was the cats. Gutting them solved the problem.

I agree with the fuel pressure issue. Do you have access to a FP gauge? if not run it by and we can verify pressure and also make SURE nothing is on the MAF sensor wires it can cause the same EXACT symptoms as not enough fuel pressure. PS does it seem to be OKay if you ease into the throttle and worse when you accelerate harder? Ken

Amen to that. Me and a buddy of mine changed his fuel filter on his 01 Cobra this past weekend. We poured the remaining gas out of the old filter and it was FULL of dirt and debris.
