I don't know Gomer but I've heard good things about him but from my personal experience in dealing with him it hasn't been very impressive. I want to make this clear I'm not bashing Gomer but sharing my personal experience.
I don't tune cars anymore and I don't want to work on them. I want to work on MY cars. Not everyone elses... I don't want to have my phone blowing up with 40-50 calls every day, 20 or so voice mails a day, 25 PM's every day, and atleast that many emails every day. I work a hard *** job 40-50hrs a week and the past 3 months EVERYONE has wanted something from me. On top of all that, I hurt my back and also had to have a major surgery on my left hand. I'm DONE with the car stuff and putting up with people that WILL NOT leave me alone. There are ALOT of good guys on here that I have dealt with and will continue to help out on a limited basis, but then you have the pure and simple SOB's that are completely educated by nothing more than the internet and therefore they are an expert in every aspect of anything to do with LSx's. I don't have the time or patience for it anymore. If you email me about a tune or work, I'm NOT going to take the time to mail you back.

Greenfire,
FIRST of all.. my PM box was open when you wrote your spill and is still open now.
As for the guy with the Blue LT1 car, there are two sides to every story. The time he was needing the clutch is when I was having my surgery.. and if you look into the Sponsor Feedback section, you can see some of the trouble that I've been having with TSP. As for his tune, I have only charged him $50 and have had his car on the dyno one or two times. EVERY time I've messed with it, it's made the best power of any previous mail order tune. If he will PM me his paypal address I'll refund him his $50. As for everyone else that I've done stuff for in that area, NO ONE has gotten a bad deal on anything... as a matter of FACT several people have more than abused the "free retune" thing to the point of having their cars tuned 5 or more times for simple or no changes. People took advantage of me and my time and I'm sick and tired of it.

I come back on here for two weeks after taking a few weeks off and nothing has changed.

Gomer, I hope your hand and back problems go away, I'm sure they will heal in time. I understand working long hours and trying to juggle other things at the same time. You have gotten a great rep. for tuning LS1s so everyone is going to hit you up for tuning. I quess that's the price for being good. I hope things get better for you. I'll promise you this though, you will not have to ever worry about this PERSON/SOB ever bugging you again! Thanks for the response!

In Scott's defense, he's a great guy, and will go out of his way to help someone. I can think of a couple of times that I've personally witnessed him go out on a limb to do people favors.

I had the great fortune to deal with him before he became overwhelmed by the number of people requesting his services. He got too busy because he is THAT GOOD. There was even a running joke for a while that he never took three pulls to tune a car, he always got the tune down in two. He has always treated me fairly, and answered my questions knowledgably and promptly.

I would hate to see someone try to blacken his name on this board, because it would be bad form to do so.

It's a shame that he is no longer going to be doing this for us local guys, especially those of us in the Montgomery area, because we don't really have many choices as far as tuning goes. He was the closest tuner around by far. I guess if he's not tuning anymore, I'll have to get the software myself, or take the car to Thunder Racing and let them do it. That's a real shame, because I think that he's a great tuner.

For what it's worth Scott, I wish you the best, hope your hand and back get better soon, and hope to see you around this board a bit more, now that you've made your wishes not to be bothered with the car stuff clear. I'd hate to see someone as knowledgable as yourself kept away from this board for fear of being inundated with simple questions that could be answered by simply searching the site.

I understand were Scott is commin from. Ive been at the dyno with him to pick up TBs in the past and have seen a few guys doin the "free retune" thing a time too many and I was like "didnt ya tune his car 2 weeks ago?" and he just looks at me and rolls his eyes and smiles lol- "He changed his headers from Hookers to Jet Hots and wanted to make sure it was still fine" . And it was.....hes done more stuff for free than I have and thats hard to believe even for me . I knew it would get him burned out eventually, I even talked to his wife about it one day. If he wasnt at work or asleep he was at the dyno or puttin a cam in or swappin heads or.......

I just wanted everyone to know that Scott is a man of his word, he did refund the money to me that he said he would. Scott is a great guy. There was just a lot going on during the time we were conducting our work. I will do more work with him (when and if he gets back into the car stuff).

Thanks once again Scott and enjoy the brake.

Scott is one of, if not THE, nicest person I have come across in a long time, I met him as a complete stranger and after only a couple of meetings we were shooting the **** like we had known each other for years, and I will say this. For those of you who are impatient and want things done right here right now, sorry to say but you are sorely forgettting that Scott has a life as well and wants to enjoy his time too. Can you imagine having 40 calls per day about working on cars, what if that day he wants to work on his car for a change, is that such a crime, or if he wants to go fishing with his wife at the lake....... i understand that people come to him because he is one of the best, i know from experience that he knows his stuff about LS1's backwards and forwards. Personal story here, I put a cam in a few months ago and we got to the dyno at around 3 or 4 in the afternoon and Scott came up to tune it. First thing is, he didnt HAVE to do this, I did not pay him for a tune, granted i had had one prevoiusly for my header install, but he did this on his own. Secondly, we did not get on the dyno until about 7 that nite, literally we sat there for about 3-4 hours while other people dynoed/tuned, did scott bitch or act pissed? no way, he sat there with me, my brother, and his wife and just had a good time. I myself know nothing about these cars and take in every chance to learn about these cars and not once when i ask a stupid question or he offers advice does he act conceited, mr. "know-it-all" or cocky in any way. hes just a damn good guy who is worn down right now and wants some free time, period. im gonna get off my soapbox now, and by the way, if anyone has seen the lake near scott's house, i cant blame him at all for fishing, its amazing!!

This is complete horse ****. Scott has helped me with more for less money than anyone I have met as far as my car goes. Hell I owe him money and he even bought me and my wife dinner and met me a hour away from his home to pick up my car. Give him a break and quit with the free tunes at least have a little respect. With all that said everyone be nice as free white american men we have enough people to argue with besides ourselfs.

I agree.. Scott has helped me out a few times in the past and is a nice guy to shoot the **** with. He helped me out when TSP screwed me and has gone out of his way a few times for me. I have seen the **** he goes thru and it would definately get old quick. I do have a feeling that he will be back one day though.

Scott is a Jam up guy and likes to be treated with respect just like anyone else. He needs some time off after his full time job + 2-3nights a week at the dyno and all day on Saturdays + turning wrenches in his spare time. He has a wife as well. You know how not spending time with them can go.....

Scott is a great guy. He installed my cam, and has tuned my car 3 or 4 times. He would work his *** off at his normal job for 40-50 hours a week, and then any spare time that he had he would work on and tune other peoples cars for them. I'm surprised he ever got any sleep. He got a little more popular for installs, etc. than he ever expected. I understand where he's coming from. After doing that for 2 years straight, I'd be tired too. Hope everything is going better for you now Scott. Enjoy fishing and working on your own cars for a change.

Wow....I hope things have changed in the past few months. I have dropped his name to at least 50 people over the past year....since I sold my Corvette.

I am picking up another H/C 99 Coupe next weekend and was on this board just to track him down.

If you decide to get back in the business, please let me know as you have been the most impressive tuner I've ever worked with..

Tuned my car in 2 pulls and I will never forget that for as long as I live.
