Don't live in NC, but welcome to the south anyway. The "southern section" should be called the "Atlanta section" it's a more fitting description.
Hopefully within 24 hours a NC person will stagger onto the site to answer your track question better.

There is a track in Greer, SC that is not far from Asheville. I can hook you up with a local F-body group in the area. The Greer track is only a 1/8 mile, the closest 1/4 mile track is in Bristol, Virginia. I think its a 3-4 hour drive and they have been known to make trips up there. I don't live in Asheville but I have family there and some great F-body ethusitests.
Also check out www.highoctane.com, they are the group of F-bodies in Asheville, so join the forum and you should be okay as far as being in contact with them. You can also check out http://carolinafbodyclub.com/forums/index.php, they are also on there as well. Good Luck!
