I would scratch any ideas you have about modding other than a 3600 or 4000 converter and a set of tires. Anything else is a waste of a first mod.. There is NO other mod (except nitrous) that will give you as much of an ET reduction as a converter and tires, especially for the money.
3600 sounds alittle harsh for street car? i have never owned a car with a stall so i dont know..... someone let me ride in there car with a stall so i can see..... my car from a stop will light the tires up if i stomp it.. seems like a stall would just let it break em loose easier since the power is right up on tap?.... i just notice driving the car around town hell i dont get over 2200 just creepin round town when i take off the car shifts out about there...
will a stall converter quit pulling once its below those rpms? cause i can run 65 at 1400rpms all day on hwy....
I have a 3200 stall in my car and love it. Some say a 3400-3600 would be better but I feel the 3200 was perfect for a street, dd, fun toy car. I am fixing to swap it out for a different brand I think.

You will have to give it more Rpms to get the tires to spin.. Example.. With a 3600 converter you will be around 4000 Rpms during a burn out, although it is much easier to get there than with a stock converter you won't smoke the tires unless you want to.
A 3600 does not mean that you always are at 3600 rpms.. With a good converter you will pick up around 2000 Rpms normal driving and when you kick it then it will "flash" to 3600 (little more little less)..
The difference between a 4000 and a 3500 driving around town are minimal to non existent. Meaning a 4000 will pick up at say 150 Rpms more than a 3500..
Here is a vid to show you how a converter works.. Keep in mind this is a 4400 (some think it was even looser
Notice from the time I kick it to the time I let out it is ALWAYS in its power band.. In never drops below 5500 after a shift and never saw under 4800 from a stop.
Hope that helps a little bit.. If you meet me in huntsville I will give you a ride in my car.. This one has a 4000 and is very street friendly.. Baby 226 cam ls6 intake 317 heads 373 gears.. I promise your next mod will be a converter! It is the number one mod for an A4.

thats awesome man i hope to see some of these rides soon.... i think some *** time in one or two will be a blessing.... and my car suffers badly from the 2-3rd shift it drops sooo many rr's that it losses momentum...
the car in the vid is it also running 3.73?

Always note that when you add gear, the converter gets tighter.....
lemons explained it very well, and is pretty spot on......the more gear you add, the tighter it will get....
Lee, remember the easy resources you have for a converter.....

i was hoping i may could find a hook up!!! HINT HINT.... and when you say the converter gets tighter do you mean that the stall get lower? as in with 3.23 a 3500 stall would become more like a 3000 stall with a 3.73 gear swap?
i would love that man cause i plan to spend the money and have my car finished by christmas so i will prob need to get started!
Lee, going from a 3.23 to a 3.73 wouldn't change much at all, maybe 1-200 rpms.....going from a 3.08 or 3.23 to a 4.10 would see more of a 4-500 rpm change.....
Of course a car with a converter likes the gear.....
Just let me know man, I can hook you up......

That road looks familiar.......hmmmmm
The car in the vid had 410s.. ms4 ported FAST 90 4500ish converter LT's custom xpipe 1 chambers before axle... Not sure if I had the PRCls6 heads in that vid or not, don't think I did.
