Friday night is ladies night and they get in free so it's normally full of high schoolers. The track goes away quick and if you are looking for best ET get there early because after an hour-hour and a half you'll just be wasting your time. It's only $10 though. Their Sunday afternoon TnT is $35 if you are racing. Very small crowd. Mostly race cars on slicks. If you are looking to dial something in or run your best ET that's the time to do it. Friday's are usually more of a spectator sport.

Hey guys anyone know of a reputable transmission shop around the Tuscaloosa area?

I had my T-56 'repaired' by Tuscaloosa Tire & Service Center back in summer 2012 (new clutch kit, master/slave cylinder) and I'm having the exact same problems only 4K miles later (weekend car). Car shakes driving from a light and at idle. They're basically telling me to go pound sand as the car is out of warranty and I'm stuck with the bill to repair it at this point. Barkley Chevrolet wants $3k to fix it...pretty much wanted to replace everything in the T-56.

Any ideas on what to do, or a good place that will do quality work?

Tekone, sorry to hear about your bad luck. However I know what you are going through. A buddy of mine just received his rebuilt stage 2 T-56 from Tick Performance, and his Monster stage 3 clutch assembly today. We will be installing it tomorrow. I have only heard nothing but great things about their trans rebuilds. We shall see in a few days.

8.0 or quicker 1/8 mile you'll need a helmet. Other than that you can wear a wife beater and flip flops for all they care.

Gates open at 9 but the first car doesn't make a pass until closer to 10.

Their Facebook page is the best place to get updates.

Well had some detonation and the motor let go, so I'll have to get either a new rotating assembly and/or new block. Gotta finish tearing it down and see. So guess i won't be making it to get some times at the track just yet.

Hey guys, I'm new to the board. I have an 88 Camaro that I'm doing a 5.3 swap into. I have started working with a mechanic that's not working out and looking to move the car to another reputable shop to complete loose ends. I'd be willing to also take any advice you have for locals or anyone that would be willing to help me on the side as long as they are reliable. Any input or advice would be much appreciated.

For shops there is:

http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/ Known for LS1 RX-7 swaps.

http://www.mpfab.com/ If you need mounts or exhaust fabed up. Not sure if he does complete engine swaps or not.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/TAPCO/192538237536829 General all around shop. Don't let the import vibe fool you.

http://hensonperformance.com/ Works on lots of GMs and Fords.

http://www.speedsouth.com/ Been around the longest.

https://www.facebook.com/Performance.Engineering.Dyno Not sure what all they do.

Does anyone know of a lift for rent in the Madison area? I'm getting ready to do a kooks longtube header install on my WS6 and would really rather do it using a lift.

Been a long time since I've posted, but I took my car to steele not long ago. This was on a Friday night, and the track was total ****. I couldn't hook up for nothing. I believe my best 60' was like a 1.8, where at Holiday I was getting 1.5s.

Either way the bike ran good!!

I found a stack of my old handycam DVDs from back when I use to film a lot of dyno days and random gatherings at Steele. Got most of it on youtube so far.

It royally goofs up whenever I try to add the playlists links even though they look fine when previewed. I guess you'll just have to do them manually if you want to take a look.
