Pistons, machine work, head studs, head gaskets, time

 

Been there done that! You got plenty of time... 2 full weeks to get it going.

 

Hey Vann, you going to have your tranny done by then? or is it already in?

 

Well The machine work is where a majority of the time is and i can only work on my car on saturdays and maybe some sunday...and believe me I have been here a few times before myself

 

Nope still waitin on the converter. I have a stock trans in it now so im good.

 

I do believe I am just going to put a Stock 6.0 shortblock in the HOSS so i can get it running...

you really wern't kidding about the work involved to get that HOSS running, what the heck did you do blow the motor?

 

Look back I lost a piston... there is a bad photo of it. It has been smoking a little and i thought it was going to be a ring problem. I did a compression test and i had NO pressure on piston 3. Pulled the head and the top 1/12 of the piston was gone...

But yeah blowing motors is basically a bi yearly thing... just means go bigger/better

oh heck ya id like to buy my own hptuners but til then ive already bought my lap top. but ive got slp LT headers a granatelli MAF, slp lid, true duals 3in and im bout to get my tranny built i bought the TCI rebuild kit pro racing kit. and i need to buy a 3500 stall converter and then i will buy a texas speed magic stick 4 cam, and after that i will need a tune badly

lol im wanting to run 6's in the 1/8 on the bottle with stock heads and i think ill be there when the tranny and cam is in and the car is tuned.

 

You should at least hand portt the heads but you should see that easy with a stall and nitrous
