What tire do you plan on running at the track?
On my previous supercharged camaro, I had a stock 10 bolt and ran low 11's all day. Also did alot of street racing. If you have a 6 speed just don't launch off the rev limiter and you should be fine.

Assuming you have a six speed, you're going to have to go off the line easy to prevent major tire spin.
I think it would be fine, so long as you dont laucnh at 5k plus like was said. I'm pretty sure the real danger of breaking the 10bolt comes with sticky tires/hard launches and more power.

Street tire's you are going to have to leave easy or you will spin, but drag radial's you can leve at 2500 or so if the track is good and slick's I am not sure because of the strenght of the 10 bolt. It might last a lifetime or 1 time!!!If you want to have fun , just leave the stock tire's on or drag radial's until you are ready to upgrade the rear.
I had a cammed, twin turbo'd Firehawk with a 6-speed and it never broke the rear.
That's with borderline abusive street driving. Of course I never launched it at the track with slicks though. It always broke traction on street tires though. I did keep a girdle and stud kit with Royal Purple oil to help out.

I've made 10 passes on mine since I've had it leaving at 3500 with street tires on low pressure and 2500 on drag radials and would you believe I had problems with the tranny before the rear? Don't worry about the 10 bolt until you get into bigger upgrades. 2500 seems to be a good spot with either tire from what I've experienced and read on here

You are correct good sir...
that is correct. Only time i broke posis was during the BURNOUT when it would wheelhop.
As long as i started with water on both tires i never broke a posi. I did break an axle trying to do a 1.4 60 with 3850# but had already done MANY 1.5-1.6 60' on those axles.
Autos are easy on the 10 bolt. 6 speed can last if you preload the drivetrain at the line
