in the rear...jack up car....set on jackstands with rear hanging down and sometimes the stockers just fall out or you have to undo the shock from the rear and then it will. I usually just let rear hang and kick out the stockers. Front is alot more work...you need a spring compressor or you might get killed You can take them off without one but then need to go to a shop to have them swapped or use a spring compresoor yourself

F*ck lowering springs. Just take a 1 1/2 coil off each spring and it will lower it just fine. We have done this to about 20+ cars and it puts them on the tire and it rides the same. Also just sell the lowering springs and get some $$$ back.

To take 1 1/2 coil off the spring don't you still have to take the coil out.If so you are already there, just swap them out with the new lowering spring's.I am pretty sure that your handling will be much better will proper lowering spring's instead of some cut up spring's!

It will handle the same. I have done MANY of these. I have had lowering springs on my car and cut springs. Rides the same and handles the same. This doesn't go for all cars but 4th gen f-body's it works

i guess as long as you use a cut saw or something like that and not a torch it would be ok.I alway's just swapped them out, that way if I was to get rid of the car I could put it back to stock.

You can take the front shock/spring assembly off as one unit with no danger at all. Jack the car up, unbolt the front sway bar, unbolt the upper control arm mount from the shock tower (bolts are under the hood), unbolt the strut from the spindle... make sure you support the spindle/brakes so they don't flop out and destroy the brake line. Its been awhile since I did it, but I don't think there are more than 7 bolts per side including the sway bar end links to get the assembly out.

Then you can either buy/borrow/rent a spring compressor to hold the spring while you remove it from the strut or you can just take it and the new springs to a shop and have them do it... it can't be too expensive at that point since all the labor is in pulling them not on taking them apart.

Its not real easy to get it all back in and lined up, but its doable.
