For LR area guys...
But I do want to get some good races in.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
This is why your motor has so much blow bye.
That is horse power bellowing out of your motor.
let me guess. you honed the block, used standard pistons and I'm sure whoever honed the block just used a regular old hone without torque plates since jeb is one of the very few in the state that has a set. I would also bet that whoever set up the heads didn't measure every valve and seat to get the proper spring pressure and setup height. most shops will check one and then shim the rest the same.
I am not a machine shop.
I will gladly pay a professional to do this.
Jeb Bernett if you want the most out of your setup.
I am sure your motor will be strong
you have a decent setup
Those who don't know should learn
Those who know but don't do are Idiots
I tried to tell you when you were building the motor to go with a 4.005 piston and rings. 403ci fresh bore. not a 100,000 mile cylinder bore with 4.000 pistons.
This tells me --------Idiot
you bought pistons and had it honed so why build it with so much wear in the cylinders.
It would not have cost you any more money to have a fresh bore!
I actually think Jeb uses Eddie Hines' equipment, and doesn't do as many motors anymore since he got that new job.
I'll be happy to build any of you ******* an angine, I've gotta do something for cash on the side, lol. BTW, I've put motors together in my kitchen, didn't seem to hurt anything.

Hey Merv, don't worry about it. Keltner's liable to have some piece of his car fall off at any moment. (Lighthearted jab at Kris' old TA.)
Keltner, you've gotta take me for a ride in that 'Vette next time I'm in Arkansas. I miss that state, Texas SUCKS.

I haveth no shame cause I giveth no **** regardless..
Are we this ****** bored to be typing like this..
Merv, I am not stupid. Your buddies tried to get me to run you the other night at Shackleford. Do you really think that my blue oval would stand a chance against that behemothe of a motor you got?
Edit:
And if they aren't your buddies, then tell people to stop setting up races for you, I am not gonna run you (or anyone else for that matter) at Shackleford, Otter Creek, and not a Fouche either. Racing on Friday and Saturdays at those places is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. I am stockish LS1 fast, not badass 402 kitchen build fast.

Hey Tate, you are correct. Jeb uses Eddie Hines machine shop to do the machine work.
I think I will pass on any motor being built in a kitchen.
I can't say that anything ever fell off my T/A, But if it ever did I was in front and the guy behind me had to worry about running over it.LOL
The T/A did like to break parts. Thats a fact!
You guys building motors in your kitchen, get a girlfriend!
