Wheres the tracks.. Hey..just moved to Hickory NC from Orlando FL...Can anybody tell me the closest 1/4 miles tracks..and what nights i can run? And if anybody lives aroud Hickory..im bored as hell around here..thanx

you might want to go to carolianarides.com to find more info and guys in your area.
most guys into racing around here go to mooresville dragway, but it's only an 1/8.

Rockingham is the closest 1/4th mile and thats 2.5 hours away. You have Farmington, Mooresville, & Shadyside which are 1/8th mile tracks that are about 45 min to an hour away.
There are always people cruising down Hwy 70 from the Misubishi Dealership to Wal Mart on Friday & Saturday nights.
There are lots of cruise ins ever weekend in the surrounding cities too. Myra's in Valdese has one every Friday night. There is one in downtown Lenoir and Morganton every other saturday night also.

As far as the tracks i might hit up the 1/8 miles once or twice but im already a lil tired from the 1/8 miles back in FL (Lakeland). i really wanted to check out the tracks here since "NC so big into racing" i thought the tracks would be nice..unlike "Orlando SpinWorld", lol..which i actually did pretty decent for street tires....Isnt there a drag strip in charlotte or something? they would make a killing, if not....o well...
Anyways..thanx for the replys..ill check those site out..and if anybody else know of places people hang out around hickory let me know..

I think there is one in Wilkesboro, 1/8th mile i believe. Also, Bristol Dragway in Bristol, TN is really not that far away from you. Street Fights are usually April-October Tuesday and Thursday nights. 10 dollars to race or 5 dollars to watch. Bristol is 1/4 mile and I run there sometimes.

so i check out hwy 70 tonight (sat)..and it was ok i guess..lots are cars/bikes cruising around...waaay to much rice out..and a whole bunch a moostangs all over the place..only saw a few f-bodys....but does anybody actually chill somewhere..cuz from what i saw it was a whole buck of cars goin back and forth on the same road...i was doin cuz i kept trying to see if anybody was hangin out somewhere..but i kept seeing the same cars next to me..lol...if anybody else knows of place to hang out..(btw im only 20 so no bars yet). Then let me know..thanx
