If you plan to run your car ever now and then I'd get maybe a 3200 or something small but if not I wouldn't worry about. If you are not interested in running it much I wouldn't waste my $$$. If I were more into looking purdy, I'd just buy me some shinny stuff instead

thats funny so many people are telling me what i wanna do with my car. lol. yall are funny. im not the person to ask stupid questions. i think my tranny may be on its way out and i figured it would be a good time to do a stall. i mean it wont be my DD forever....im looking for an IROC to be a DD. i used to have one and i miss it honestly. actually a cam and heads is in my future. dunno when but it will be on there soon enough. i basically wanna keep a pretty stock appearing car but for it to be nasty when i want it to be. i wanna keep it driveable so i can go anywhere in it if i want. i dont wanna keep it parked bc its a pain in the *** to drive on the street. i figured a stall would be a better way to get better launches. and yeah i wanna get it to the track soon.

unfortunately i know about the tradegy that cars can inflict. i broke my foot and ankle, fractured my breastbone and sprained both my wrist. 55 mph head on collision.

Damn that was a hard hit. You're lucky to still be here.

FWIW, I was just giving you my opinion on getting a stall. Thats what you asked us for. I was not trying to tell you what to do with your car. Hell, I hope you get you some heads and a big nasty *** cam, a big giant converter and all the go fast goodies and come on out to the track and run with us. We just assumed since you said earlier in this thread (think it was this one) that you didn't really care to go to the track and race so we figured that you'd not have much use for a converter.

A stall is fine for daily driving just don't go too big. I wouldn't go bigger than a 3600 if you like driving your car everyday. We swapped my dads 3600 for a 4000 and it is a pain to drive compared to the 3600 and the gas milage is horrible. I can tell you this though, a converter will WAKE your car up big time.

Everywhere! Off the line, is where it really comes alive thought. It pulls better everywhere. You need to drive a car with a big converter and another with a smaller one

I was not telling you what to do with your car, that is the beautiful thing about our cars. They are ours and we can do just what we want to them. You may want to talk with a sponsor on your plans, lots of things change when you start changing up. You will want to match your cam, stall, and rear gear to get your best performance. Good Luck with your ride and that is a beautiful little girl you have there.

i figured it out i think. the y pipe is hitting pretty hard on the underneath of the car. do they make a insulation of some sort to put in between there?

It could be a few things making the y-pipe hit.
Could be bad fitment- I would try to adjust it as much as you could to see if it will stop.
Worn out motor mounts
If adjusting doesn't work and you can't do the motor mounts, then try getting the exhuast shop to make you a torque stop. There's a picture of it here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/841584-what-did-you-do-get-rid-floorboard-banging-associated-long-tubes.html
There are other ways involving a hammer, but I'll let you make that decision.
