Any dog can be dangerous, it just depends on how it was raised, but with some cases, some dogs were bred to be violent, theres no getting around that.
I have a Bouvier des Flanders, and they are world reknown police dogs in Europe, and also great herding/working dogs...everyone in my neighborhood thinks its the meanest looking thing on this Earth, haha. They thought he was a black bear. I have to constantly re-assure to people that the only thing hes going to do is slobber on you, so I know the feeling.
The dogs that I have had problems with have been a Standard Poodle, min-Pin, and a Bichon Frise. All 3 were swiftly backhanded after they bit for NO REASON. BAD TRAINING is all I have to say to that.
