on a 100 shot it should be 11.6-12:1 the 150 should be 11-11.2:1
Yep, I'd say that's what did it. Been there done that. At least the plugs took the beating. When I did that with my old Fox Body, I lifted the heads off the motor 3 times. Good, sounds like you have a good plan. Good luck with that.

thanks. Do you think I need to try a 2 step colder plug? I'm thinking that's overkill since I daily drive my car (NA)

You might want to drop the plug a step colder when you spray it and you might want to put it back on the dyno and spray it on the dyno to see the a/f on the bottle and to look at the plugs. By the way guys all of you that are running NGK TR6 if you go to Autolite's web page you will see that an autolite 103 is the cross reference for the TR6. Reason I say this is because when you burn plugs and when you spray and mess up plugs the autolites are so much cheaper. In the past I have had problems getting the TR6 and the autolite 103 from parts stores. It something they just don't keep in stock I guess but Wal Mart keeps the 103's in stock on the shelf. The last time I checked it was a 1.99 for a two pack.

my questions to you are:
1)do you know me?
2)why would you try to get conformation from 2 people that weren't there and have probably never seen my car run?

I run 1 type of plug for NA and N2O and it's 1 step colder, I'm sure it may affect my NA times some but not enough to worry about constantly changing out plugs. O'Reillys keeps the TR6's in stock. The plugs I melted were autolites (I normally run TR6's and have them back in the car now), the price of the plug isn't the issue, I'm just glad the plug took the beating and not the motor.

1) I don't know you.
2) Only reason I asked Detoxx or Bluethunder is because I have talked to them two. I haven't even met the guy with the gto so I don't know either of you. If you were on here earlier I could of just asked you straight up, but I asked blue thunder because he was the closest resource to me at the time. Now that you are on here and I read all the posts I see what happened and I got it straight from the horse's mouth. I'm not downing your car in my previous posts I was trying to find out what happened. So my bad if sounded that way.

not a problem. I just think it's funny the amount of trash that gets talked on here when nobody thought I'd ever show up, yet everyone is quick to call me a trash talker. I look at it like this, who cares if it cost me more to mod my 4.6 than it would have for an LSX, nobody ever said it's cheap to mod a modular mustang. We all know that LS motors respond well to the slightest mods so anyone can go fast in one, it doesn't prove much. It's like going fast on a bike, I've been 9's on a bike... it's fun but not some great achievement. I personally like being the "underdog" with my little SOHC 4.6.

I wouldn't. I would just keep the tr6's in there. That's what I do. I run my car ready to spray/race at all times.

I like the idea that you are building a setup that is a motor/n2o setup. Most guys I know with 4.6 are the 03/04 cobra guys. I don't see many guys biulding the motor in a 4.6 they usually are just putting bolt-ons. It's just the opposite in the lsx world almost all the guys I know run h/c/i and spray and not many with forced induction. I know what you mean about being different and being the underdog, i'm running less cubes than you are but I have a nice hairdryer that's in front of the motor.

Bud, when did you join the military? I thought the military didn't take gays...j/k. I seriously doubt I'll have my car in a few years but I'm sure I'll be spraying way before september so we can arrange something. I've been lurking on racejunk.com and will probably have a foxbody in the next few years. I thought you were planning a procharger? Me on spray and you with f/i I think would be a good race.

thanks Danny. Unfortunately the only way I could hook at the track when we went was by launching it like a pvssy (3k-3500 rpm). My car has a built rearend, good suspension and is a beast at 6k launches (when it hooks). My 60's can easilly improve by .2 if I can get it to hook up. Hell you were all out at hubcity the last time I was out there (when it was hooking), I even let TJ make a pass with it and he was also pulling the tires off the ground. I told Mark ealier I'm going to buy a gallon of VHT and coat the slicks the next time before i go. It's "supposed to" bring them back to life. If not I'll either buy new ones or go with a 10" wheel and bigger tire. In all honesty once it runs what I want it to, I'll probably put it up for sale.
