I was looking for a place that rebuilds LS1 Engines around the Woodstock area. I was thinking of a crate engine but I just dont have that much money to be spending on a brand new engine, so I thought it would be more cost effective to rebuild my engine.

i dont think vengeance builds there own engines.
not sure on the other 2.
hunter02ss has a motor from lamar walden automotive and has beat it to death and it still runs like a top! but i have no personal experience with none of them.
weber racing engines built my f.i. motor for me. and they are a sponsor.

So what is like a rough estimate for a rebuilt LS1 to stock specs?

labor about 1800 plus parts.... whats broken on yours? and it won't ever be to stock spec they will have to hone it which will make it about a 5.9 liter from 5.7 liter... but yea $1800 max for labor plus parts
its cheaper to get a used motor that works and do a swap then you got an extra motor check craigslist.com

I have almost 150,000 miles on the engine now, and I think its time to rebuild or do a engine swap because its leaking oil and started to miss fire yesterday and dont want to deal with all that. I was just looking for someone to rebuild the whole engine and supply the parts. I probably will want to do some upgrades while it is out of the car, but I really dont want to buy a used engine because you just dont know how people treat their cars these days

Are you actually needing machine work done??? If so there are only a few in the area that can do your machine work and assemble your motor in house without outsourcing any of it! ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
All of the above sponsors mentioned can assemble your motor. Not sure about Weber Racing. I believe they do all there own machine work and assembly's in house also?

I bought a used forged low mileage short-block that was damaged (needed a new crank and bearings). I provided a used stock crank and had all of the machine work done on the short block and had all new bearings (crank, rod, cam) put back in the motor. I also had the shop degree the cam and assemble the entire short block and it ended us costing around $900 to get my entire short-block redone. The only parts the machine shop provided was the bearings, I had all of the other parts but that should give you a rough estimate on the labor and assembly of the short block.
Some other parts you would want to get are, new lifters, new timing chain, gaskets, and other top-end stuff.
I used Neighbors Automotive in Snellville, they use all Sunnen equipment and have an in-house engine dyno, etc. They do a lot of race motors there.
The motor was bullet-proof and seen 7000RPM all of the time without any issues.
