I live in Thibodaux too, same as Dave70. We evac'ed to just south of Memphis. I moved the WS6 to a friends huge warehouse so it's safe....I hope. Glad to hear most have got out. The good news is that it's "only" a cat 2 instead of the forecasted Cat 3 they thought it was going to be. Getting back should be as much of a hassle as getting out was with so many leaving, then trying to get back.

Some updates from our neck of the woods:
Alot of shingles lost throughout the city (Thibodaux), which was expected but not the worst of the damage. The Civic Center lost it's roof, a tornado ripped right through North Thibodaux, Taco Bell is gone (never ate there anyway), Norm's Daquiries took serious damage - reports are that one wall was blown off, and Bubba's PoBoys got hit hard too. No flooding to report (that I know of) but that doesn't mean there isn't any. Just everyone I've talked to hasn't seen any. Personally, the house made it out in good shape. I lost my vinyl fence but that's no biggie. A neighbor had his garage door blown in and his fence is gone too. My car made it out without damage also.

Houma was really hit hard. Alot of roofs missing, everything below Boudreaux Canal is said to be gone. Cocodrie is no more. Camps gone, everything. The good news is that I haven't heard of any people hurt or killed so thank the good Lord for that.

Here's praying all of you other guys didn't have any damage either.

My neighbor (in Slidell) said my house made it fine. He thinks I lost ONE Shingle, and the electricity went out for about an hour. THANK GOD!

I'm an Active Duty Marine, so I have to wait until my Command tells me I can go home.

Good Luck to all.

It took me 21 hours to get to Montgomery, coming from Lafourche parish. It took over 7 hours to get to Slidell. Absolute torture. I had to leave the WS6 in a brick garage at my sisters house, and we just got word that the house is ok. There is a double garage barn and a 33' above ground pool less than 10' from the brick garage that were totally destroyed. I'm still awaiting word that the brick garage is completely ok.

We stayed at the house, drank beer, and watched the world fly by (literally). We made it out alive w/ minimal damage to the house and shop. Currently open for business on generator power.

Glad we sold the camp below Lake Boudreaux--2 months ago. Just have to hope the new camp just north of protection levee in Chauvin is still there (18 ft above sea level on pilons).
