Default I'll be outta here!!

I got orders!! I'm PCSing to Lakenheath, UK. I don't think I'll take my Camaro though, no cats and its a little loud. I'll either sell it or keep in the storage for 5 years?

Anybody wants to buy a low 12s stalled auto Camaro Z28?

I'm really torn... keep my Z and store it for 4-5 years (in the states while I'm overseas) or just sell it, buy one better down the road.

I say store it.
In 4-5 years, the cars that will be available out there will have been beaten on for another 4-5 years, while yours would be (effectively) 4-5 years younger.

Feel free to store the car at my house...I'll only take it to the track maybe once a month to keep it running in tip top shape. I've only put about 3000 miles on my car in a year..so I can assure you I won't drive your car as much as that.

Your friend,
Matt

Damn Bene, England. What's your RPNLTD? Will it cut your deployment short? I know you were wanting orders though, so congrats. We'll miss you. I wouldn't mind orders to Alaska, but I'm content to stay in AR for several more years. There's some great people and great times in our little corner of the world!!

Congrats dude! At least you're getting outta here. Why not ship it over? All you'd need is cats.

Either way, good luck brotha

RPNLTD is 7 July of 09, so I'll still be here. I will surely miss the car enthusiasts in AR and the scenary.

Yeah, I'm glad that I am getting a chance to see the other side of this earth for 4 years or so. I need a 4 door car to drive around when I get there because of my kids (3), wife and me so I'll have to ship the G35 with us. Can't fit 5 people in a camaro. I keep changing my mind about selling the car though. Camaro is paid for so I "should" keep it and store it however I might find somethin I like over there (as fast as the camaro, I doubt it) and use the $$ I get from selling the camaro to buy it. But then I have to start over.

What should I do...

sorry to hear it bro... but holy ****. I'd love to take your place n go to the UK. I went over spring break and it's just amazing. I'm def. movin there after school. couple things to think about: There are very fast nice cars over there that aren't here, pretty much everything is manual over there, and if you sell your car it'll only be worth half the money over there. The dollar is super weak. I went over with $500 and only had 250 pounds so ya... anyways, everyone needs to get outta their comfort zone n see how people live in other parts of the world. And your kids might get a bit of an accent which would be ballin! If your in London you don't even need a car. The underground is hella cheap and goes everywhere. Peace bene. btw can i buy your tips if you sellin it lol. but seriously though....

man that sucks you have to leave friends and maybe family for 4 years. but like jesse said you get a chance to go somewhere else in the world and experience cool stuff. i would love to go over to the uk for a couple of years. when i was in high school i had a friend who came from the uk to arkansas and he always compared the pros and cons of each area. but from what he said it sounded like the uk had more pros. hope you like it out there and good luck!! (also if you do sell your car can i have your 18's z06 and i'll put my 17's on yours and i'll give you cash as well if you want the difference lol) hey worth the try...

Damn..everyone's gettin orders..
If it's paid for I would keep it bro..a 10x20 Storage is about $70/month..depends on where you want to store it as well.
You can get the Insurance on it reduced to Comp only for the Storage Status, and you can save a little bit with that as well.

Keep it Bene...you can still save a lot of dough over there and come back and buy yourself a 6-speed toy. Then you can have a track car and a street car. Get some nice drag wheels, use the Z06's on your street car, and start modding both. I think someday I'll have another SS with a 6-speed, but the Hawk will always be my priority. Once it's complete, then I'll tackle the SS....but that's years away!

Speaking of which, I had camel for lunch last weekend, and honestly, it was very good. Awesome flavor and texture. I would not hesitate to eat it again.

i say take insurance off of it and keep it. either way it sucks that your havin to get out of your car for so long! and you can always try it for a year or so and if you dont end up wantin it then you can sell it. but you should definatley try to keep it. thats just my .02

I'd keep it but, you'd probably have to drain the gas out of it, disconnect and just remove the battery, if you keep it in storage. Or actually trust someone to take care of it for 4 years (probably not gonna happen). Hmmm Thats a tough decision.

Yeah, I'm gonna keep it. I just learned that the gov't pays military pers' storage for their cars until they get back in the states. I was like, OH YEEAH!.

They require to have orders on hand, the vehicle w/ full tank of gas,and excellent working condition so they start the car monthly for entire duration of my tour or until I get back.
