Default Either the Firehawk or a C5...

So I posted this over in the Corvette section, but of course it's a little biased, as I may expect here too. So let's see what you all think...

I'm in a debate to either do one of two things, both will cost pretty much the same in my expenses. Just trying to determine which one I desire more...

1) Keep my black 99 Firehawk. Bad thing is it has 147k on the odometer. Less than 7k on built 347. My goal was/is to build a custom turbo kit with FMIC to retain the a/c and set the boost to where I'm making in mid 5xx rwhp/ 5xx rwtq.

2) Buy a c5 with a 6 speed. My price range would be around a 1998-2000 model with around 80k-120k miles. Depending on how much I spend for one, I may have enough cash left to put some headers & x pipe on it, but my common goal would be to do a cam swap (along with ported oil pump, pushrods, chain, springs, retainers), LS6 intake, and full exhaust. Once tuned my goal would be anything above 385rwhp.

Things to consider...
-I don't really need a back seat that much
-I love the looks of the FRC better, but I would probably go targa top
-I hear people breaking something in the driveline on a c5, like an output shaft or something??
-The FMIC & sound of the turbo on the Hawk is almost as good as sex. But a loud c5 would be kinda sweet too.

i want a c5 just as much as the nesxt guy but im thinkin boosted hawk on this one man.

or keep the hawk and get a vette too? I voted turbo hawk, because simply put, you knwo what that car is and how it is.. you never know what you'll get with the C5. now if it were C6 that's a different animal. I'm not real fond of the C5 looks personally.

lol it'd be awesome to have both but won't happen. I'm kinda torn between the two right now. I guess if I sell the Hawk then I'd find myself 100% devoted to finding a c5. I know with the boost I'll have to work & monitor everything more than I'd like, but with the Vette just a full exhaust system is going to cost over a grand.

if something breaks on a vette it is usually mucho expensive to fix and if you were going to get one with high mileage you could run into some problems. Keep the hawk since you know it already. I was going to say vette until you said you were looking to get a high mileage one.

Had a Twin Turbo Firehawk (engine in sig).... sold it and got a stock '01 Zo6

Happier than ever. Much better car, although I will always love the Firehawk for what it is...
