Rarest of the Rare???

-There's one '98 Mystic Teal SS, and it's a convertible. Last time I saw pics of it, it had one of those weird Mustang-like fake roll bars on it.
-There's one '00 Hugger Orange Camaro, that is supposedly a convertible, but I've never seen proof and don't know if it is a Z28, SS, or regular Camaro.
-There's two '97 1LE Bright Purple Metallic Z28s.
-There's five Sport Gold Metallic '99 Camaros (I don't remember if they were Z28s, but I don't think they were) that were part of a Days Inn hotel contest. *Supposedly* one of these was totalled.
In my opinion, these will be some of the most desirable and collectible factory-rare 4th gen Camaros in the future. The Berger, GMMG (ZL1/Dick Harrell), etc. will likely retain more value than these because they are specially modified cars. I can hardly see how if the '00 Hugger Orange is a V6 Camaro, how that would possibly make someone want to pay 6 figures for it.
The 4th gens that got more magazine press will always be worth the most, and as far as 4th gens go, that's an area dominated by GMMG modified ones. The more exclusive and different looking it is, the more it'll retain its value.
Other than the 1 of 1 '68 Z28 'vert for Pete Estes, there were a few other 1 of a hand full cars built by the hand of GM and not a dealer creation not mentioned:
The 1 '99 "Reverse 30th" WS6 'vert (built for the Century 21 Promo, the other was a clone)
The 2 '98 Formula WS6 'verts (both red, one was white top / 6M, the other black top / A4).
-1LEs of a certain color were tracked, along with what transmission. Ex: 10 1LE Camaros were white in 1999, 3 of which were automatics. So you could say you have one of the 3 white, automatic, 1LE Camaros for 1999 if you have one.
-B4C police Camaros were tracked the same way as 1LEs.
-SS were tracked the same way as above. If you contact SLP you can even find out what your SS number was. If you have a 30th anniversary or 35th anniversary Camaro, the mods on the forum of www.35thle.com can tell you your 30th or 35th number along with your SS number based on your VIN.
-Y3F sport appearance package (various years when RS was not an option--ex:1998) you can find out how many were in your color, but cannot break down further than that.
If you want to know how many Bright Green Metallic 1997 Z28s were made with dark gray leather with a manual transmission you are absolutely out of luck, because 1) GM either didn't track it or 2) they don't release the information to the public and you'd have to contact them with your VIN # if you wanted to get anywhere.

9 - 1997 LT4 SS 30th Anniversary
61 - 1997 LT1 SS Silver with Black stripes.
Weren't there three 2000 Sunset Orange Metallic SS's made? A test run of the color? It's in the White Book.
But the bottom line, to me, my cars are all 1 of 1.

Sure, if it can done in a civilized manner. But it always ends up in a pissing match. Mine is better than yours, ..., I've got 1 of 1, ..., Whatever, ...
Oh well, I didn't mean for anyone to get pissy about it. Like usual, ...
That's why the 'aisle 5' thing was a joke.
(Still didn't like the post delete tho, ...,

## A total of 45 1999 Monterey Maroon cars were built for the GM fleet in order to allow the color to be available at start-of-production '00. A separate list will be provided at a later date with exact models/trims for these cars. They were a mix of V6 coupes, convertibles, and Z28s. None were SS and none had Y3F Sport Appearance Package. All were driven by GM employees and most were disposed of thru the GM auction program. . . which means GM dealers would have bought them for resale to the public.
$$$ A total of 5 Z28 Coupes were built in the 1999 model year in color 63U Sport Gold metallic. While Sport Gold was discontinued near the end of the model run in 1998, a contract had been signed between Chevrolet and Days Inn for a sweepstakes where the final prize was a Sport Gold Z28 Coupe. While the sweepstakes ran in the spring and summer of '98, the contract specified a 1999 Z28. Thus Ste. Therese built 5 1999s for this sweepstakes. Two units were given away, the other three were driven by GM executives and then disposed of through the GM auction system.

Here is the SS Hugger Orange numbers I've got. The SS numbers are broken down even further by option too. Chirpthird.com may have them.
T-top A4 - 75
T-top M6 - 174
Ragtop A4 - 26
Ragtop M6 - 35
A4 Coupe - 11
M6 Coupe - 54 (this includes the 1LEs)
There were a lot of HO Z28s built. I'm sure somebody has that number.
The "lock" thing wasn't needed so I canned it. Just was trying to keep this thread more positive than a pissing match.
Not trying to get to any one.
68 RS/SS 350 A/C convertible originally Butternut Yellow. Speculated at about 1200 RS/SS's produced (all colors/ not option specific), but no breakdown on colors or the A/C options.
I've owned the car 29 years and haven't seen another- in person, on-line, in print, nada/zilch.
Dealer delivered Black Bird #30, 1 of 2 black convertibles.
Most often quote I hear, " I've never seen one of these before"
