Yep..............Chrome Illusion. It is simply beautiful. Ford had a color like this too. I believe they called it "Chameleon". As the angle of light hitting the paint changes, the color changes. At one angle it may look Navy Blue, another angle Brown, another angle Green, etc.

I have seen the car a couple of times too...............up close and personal when I was at the Berger All Chevy Show. Could have sworn in the right light that it reflected a brown or bronze color.............

Nope, no brown
That's why it looks so nice. It's not like those ricers running around with a flip/flop paint job. It's clean.
The pics really don't do it justice. But here are the best one's I have of the different colors in the paint.
Here is a video as well. You can see it changes colors when it hits the light.

I forgot to mention that I spoke to Matt about the car (sometime back) and was told that Johnny wanted this '02 Berger different from the '01 Berger he had. Consequently, this is why he painted it Chrome Illusion. Apparently, it was on his race car at the time and he wanted the Berger that color.

There were the Blackbirds, and then there were the Carl Black Anni T/A's. Not the same although they looked quite similar, easiest way to spot the diff was the BB's came with TT2's, the CBA T/A's came with ARE 200S(Daisy's) that were painted a similar color to the magnatellic grey that the Intimidator SS's came with. This series was run after BB's, and i think there were ninteen built.

Good question
They had a 10th,15th,20th,25th,And 30th Anniversary edition and ended it with "Collector"?. Every 02 Camaro built had a 35th plaque on the dash if memory serves ,not sure if firebirds did. I think this is why GMMG & Carl Black produced these as 35th T/A's, as some of the BB's were 01's. JMHO

It's NOT an anniversary car. Since the Trans Am debut in 1969, the anniversaries have been 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994 and the LAST anniversary Trans Am was a 1999 . . . . so the 35th anniversary of the TA would have been 2004 . . .
For some reason the anniversary on the 'Bird was always base on the Trans Am, not the Firebird . . . odd . . .

The CETA was a commemorative car marking the end of the production . . .

Agreed, then you throw in the 76 50th Anni T/A, which was really the tenth MY anniversary of the firebird, no to be confused with the 79 10th anniversary T/A

Then of course there's that same confusion when you talk about the 30th and CETA as well. I'm sure it was based all on marketing since the poncho target was always the higher $$ customer, hence the flood of commemorative models. When you think of it, launching the T/A RPO two years after model introduction ,and basing their anni models on the big ticket cars put them out of sync and forced their hand to use "CETA" decades later.
So...techincally it's a thirty fourth anni T/A by model year definition, inspired by and used to commemorate back to back SCCA Trans AM Championships won by (you guessed it) the Camaro Z28.
