Sweet, there seems to be a good amount of 2000's around, I have seen some wrecked, parted out etc.....add 1 more to the 2000 stable here, and hopefully by end of year, will have my H/C swap done!
This was the shocker of the day. This car just may be the quickest stock Firebird of all time. And when you consider its $26,000 price tag, the cheapest of all 13 cars, the Firebird easily wins "bang for the buck" title.
How do we explain this Formula's awesome performance? How can we explain its 13.15-second ET and 108.27 mph trap speed, which is more than two-tenths of a second and 2 mph better than the Camaro? Like we said before, we can't. However, we can guess. First: weight. This Firebird is a stripper, without heavy options like power windows, power seat, etc. Second: tolerances. Sometimes they stack up and you get a faster car. Sometimes they don't.
Whatever it was, this Ram Air Pontiac ran down the track like it was born to, spitting out the most wonderful V8 baritone tune from the tree to the traps. The LS1 engine has a wonderfully flat torque curve, but it lays down at 5500 rpm, 500 revs shy of its redline. Shifting there netted us our best time.
And what sweet shifts they are.
Flatfoot shift Second and this Formula has enough grunt to lay down two 10-ft. stripes on the asphalt. You can bark the dogs in Third as well. We did miss one shift, however, when our sweaty palm slipped off the Firebird's plastic baby-butt-smooth shift ****.

Reason: Added info
i had a question on my 00 formula ws6 i know its a real ws6 casue i ran the numbers on it and the sticker on my door says so..i got the car with 40k about a year ago and i was surprised that even though it was a v8 it had single exhaust out the drivers side of the bumper...my question is..did these come with single exhaust or what everything looks original on it i thought i had heard some of the earlier ones like 98's came with single but im not sure if anybody could shine some light on this thanks!
it is stock 3 inch piping i belive into an original muffler and out the drivers side part of the bumper i thought it was weird too but it was original and its not a 98 it seemed odd so i just kept the old exhaust when i put my hooker on there...i want to find out what i have before i start messing with it too much...i know theyre going to be very popular in the future something like a yenko camaro..lol..but im trying to keep it as original as i can not cut anything up or ghetto rig it at all...and i keep all my original parts too
Just a note to your asking for ws6 owners to reply. I have finished a frame up on my new toy everything was removed, cleaned and painted. All new parts and bushings including bmi panard bar, boxed control arms with stock car two (2) piece bushings. 3.73 gears,tuned,85mm mass air, strut tower brace, chrome under hood treatment along with magnaflow true duals and many other parts. This is my last project as age is working against me. This is my labor of love with the help of my son. New wheels and tires this week 10 spoke argent z06 17 front 275x40 and 18 rear 315x35 should have a great stance. I have completely documented this vehicle and have pictures and info from first owner. My car is a4-t-tops-leather-cassette player and the other usual items. 22 were built in 1998, 7 with m6-15 a4 and only 2 with cassette.

Jim, could you confirm that your '98 WS6 is a Formula and not a T/A? My ASC# spreadsheet shows #1084 is a Trans Am. It wouldn't be the first time I've found similar errors in this spreadsheet. But we also had someone else accidently post his T/A in this Formula thread.
I show your conversion date is 4/22/98. And my data agrees that 22 Arctic White '98 Formula WS6s were built.
Hope you don't mind, I've added you to the WS6 Build Number listing in the sticky thread.
Thanks
