What would you do...?
I came across this car at a local dealership:
2002 Firehawk Trans Am M6 #0367.
Was ordered with every option - unique spoiler, auburn diff, floormats, car cover, chrome wheels, etc. Everything is there except the car cover. It is signed under the hood by Dave Hamburger and someone else on the other side.
Now that we know what the car is, let go with the problems...
Basically, it looks like ****. It is at a hole-in-the-wall 'buy here, pay here' stealership and the owner says he is DDing it right now. It was dirty on the outside, and the wheels were dirty as crap
Passenger headlight cover doesn't line up 100% (accident?).
I looked under the car in the front checking for paint work and noticed nitrous solenoids in the front bumper and the line goes up by the battery and stops (previous owner most likely took off most of the kit to trade it in or whatever). I didn't notice any paint work though
There is one door ding in the driver rear quarter - other than that, there really isn't anything major. A few scratches here and there, most can hopefully be buffed.
Interior isn't that bad. No rips in the seats. The weather stripping on the lower part of the door is ripped, carpet isn't too bad. Sunvisors need replaced.
The part that bothered me was the door chime. It was chiming with the door open and the key was not inserted. So, im thinking possible theft recovery..?
I did an autocheck, and nothing comes up, except that it went to auction. I searched firehawk.org and all they have is a description from an ebay auction from 2006 that says the car was on the 05 Power Tour. And I can see it was sold in 2007, and then auction in 2008..
The guy is asking 16k for it, but I wouldnt pay more than 11 or 12. It has great potential being that it isn't in horrible shape. Biggest worries I have are the N2O and the door chime...
Should I pass or go for it...?
