What were the different SS options for the 97 model year?
What are the RPO codes? Is R7T the SS SLP, and the R7K the regular SS? How about R7M?

all true SS's are SLP's...

 

^^^true true there were only about 3000 of them made I have 2

 

All SS went to SLP for 96-97 and had the following parts added;

Standard SS parts that SLP installed on all SS
hood
SS air filter box and tubing
air filter base block off plate (went in the old location of Z28 style air tubing)
SS badging
SS interior plaque
ZR1 wheels with SS logo center caps
SS spoiler
SS owners supplement manual

Optional SLP equipment
Hurst shifter with leather H ****
2 on the left catback
Castrol lubricant package
Bilstein suspension package
SS car cover
SS floor mats
SS key chain
R1 rear tire package (2 extra rear wheels with R1 slicks)


There's a few other small things here and there that I'm forgotten since it's been a long time but this takes care of 99% of it.

 

From what I have found and noted . .

The R7T was the RPO code for the SS package in 1997 . . .

The R7A was a SLP option code . .

The WU8 was linked to the SS package . . . .

The WU9 was linked to the 30th Anniversary SS package . .

My best guess to clairfy the info I have found . . .

R7T and WU8 are on 1997 SS's

R7A and WU9 are on 1997 30th Anniversary SS'sI broke Down my RPO Code list, from inforamtion I found on the net and Mr. Hamburger . .

any idea on whose option the embroidered ss camaro seats for the 1996 SS? slp or govt motors? sorry for jacking just curious.

 

Not a car option . . . that was done custom by the dealer or the previous owner . .

The only 4th Gen Camaros that I ever recall getting embroidered seats was the 1997 30th and 2002 35th anniversaries . . .
