Yes, let me put it this way, the black roof on 4th gen camaros is MORE COMMON than those with a body color roof. Especially the LS1 years. To get a body color roof on an LS1 Camaro it had to be a base V6, a B4C, or a stripped down Z28 or specially ordered which was rare. Only body color t-top V8 was the 35th SS.
It gets even trickier when you start talking about black side mirrors vs. body color.

A black roof was required on Z28s from '98-'02 if I remember correctly. You could get the monochromatic paint option from '95-'97 or '96-97 to get body colored mirrors and roof, but that was discontinued. At some point, black mirrors were discontinued and ALL mirrors were body colored. I can't remember the year that happened off the top of my head. I thought it was 2000 or 2001.

douwannarace-- Was your car originally a V6 Camaro? Your sig doesn't say it's a Z28 or SS...
If it was a V6, somebody repainted the roof.
The early 4th gen V6 cars came with black roofs only if they were t-top cars. In fact, black roof was mandatory for the first few years on t-top equipped V6 Camaros.
