NEW: WS6 Registry Listing
#61
The '01 and '02 lists have been updated to add those since the last update.
01badbird, I'm not sure why two obviously different cars have ASC #56 for the '01 run. I suspect those numbers were provided by different people at ASC at different times and one of them is in error. That, or their records are incorrect. I don't have access to the '01 ASC #s, so I have no way to verify by the conversion date. That other car has been on this list since I started doing the updates on this registry back in Oct '09.

First off THANKS Johnny checked updated list !!!!!! I would like to find out why 2 #56s I got my number from Marty in '06 and when I seen this thread checked again in '14 and Marcus confirmed and he said the other must have wrong info. Heres what I have.... According to our records, your S/N 2G2FV22G812xxxxxx is a red 2001 WS6 with T-Tops and an automatic transmission. It was converted by ASC June 30th, 2000 and was our build number 56.
The 2001 model year WS6 breakdown is:
7,869 WS6s built
7,088 T-Tops
3,751 automatic transmissions
1,509 red
With your specific combination (red, T-Tops, automatic trans), we built 1,103.
We received the regular Trans-Am’s from GM then converted them into WS-6 Trans-Am Firebirds. They received unique wheels, a new hood, special air-box, badges and trim. We then shipped the cars back to GM and they sent them to car dealers.
I hope this information is helpful. Take care.
All the best, sincerely,
Marcus A. Shelley

Give him the vin# and he'll look up the build number for you along with a breakdown of how many cars match yours.

well got ahold of Marcus and he verified that mine is #56 I got the other vin number from a post that the other guy put up (after searching forever and trying to contact him) hope you can fix to keep some credibility to list (2 #56"s) heres what Marcus sent me and really appreciate his efforts to help everyone out!!!
You are Rick Geiger. The car you own is #56. Built in June 2000. A Red T-top Automatic. The other VIN is build number 4,976 , Blue convertible automatic. No one ever told this person he is build # 56, in fact he can’t be, as VIN number is all wrong. VIN was built in January 2001, 6 months after model year 2001 started. Hope this helps.
And here is link to his post with his vin number https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...nvertible.html

Wow, quite the detective work there. Glad you and Marcus figured this out. I'll fix this duplication on the next update. Seems there has been a flurry of action on this, Marcus must be getting caught up kicking out so much info (THANKS Marcus if you are reading!!).
