Default 30th Anniv/35th Anniv LE SS...?

I have an opportunity to pick up either one of these... The 97 has 36Kmi.. the 02 has 68K.... The diff is about $3K in price.. ( 02 being more)... Both are t-top A4's... But are pretty sweet cars none the less... Leaning towards the 97 30th... which also has the Houndstooth interior. What say you and why...?
There is also a 99 HO roller M6.... Considerably less, but would be a great builder car... and he's local...
Decisions, Decisions...
Post some pics if you own either...

I have a 97 SS and I tell you it's a Pain in the ***! I have replaced 4 distributors and just about everything else under the hood, expensive! The 02 is a lot easier to tune and get parts at more reasonable rates and has bigger brakes and more power. Don't get me wrong, I love my car but it hasn't been an easy road either. Oh ya and if you have to replace those seat covers, about $800-$1200 a set... I'm re doing my whole suspension right now with KYB 8 way adjustable shocks and all poly bushings, tie rods and shock mounts for the front, found out the sway bars are also smaller than the 98-02 SS. IF you like the 97 and it's nice and you really like it get, the mileage is low enough and if you have problems with the car, people on here are super informative and willing to share info and experiences. I've been on this forum for a long time and enjoy it and the people. Good Luck!

The '97 paint scheme is certainly better looking IMO, but the LS1 would be much preferred if all else was equal. The '97 has considerably lower miles so it's potentially in better shape for less money, and it won't ever need the roof panel to be replaced for bubbles (unlike the '02).

I like the HO car as well, other than the M6 which I would have to take a pass on. A roller is a big project, so this is certainly not the preferred option if you want a car to jump in and drive ASAP.
