Blackbird Trans Am
Thanks in advance for your insight.
Google is your friend.
The referenced quote you provided was from an article specific to the Year One Blackbirds, which differed slightly as outlined in your second link.
The reason I ask is I just purchased a rare factory color Blackbird, and production numbers indicate that while a Trans Am was available in said color, the WS6 package was not. The ironic part is all this contradicting information is sourced from Google, so It is not my friend.

But then I see some images that, apparently, show at least one of the Blackbirds was BGC - which was not supposed to be a WS6 color either. But I am no expert on the Blackbirds.
With that said, if you already own the car then I'm sure you've seen (or have access to) the SPID sticker, or at least the VIN, so checking for the color code and "WS6" RPO should be simple. This would answer all possible questions about how the car left GM initially.
FWIW, I once encountered a MRM car that also "wasn't supposed to be". The color (Maple Red Metallic) was not supposed to be available on WS6 cars, but here one was, sitting in front of me at a dealer (Grossinger Autoplex/Pontiac, Lincolnwood, IL). This was a brand new car, in the 2000 model year. At that time, I didn't know that MRM wasn't supposed to be available on a WS6, but the color was new for 2000 (though I later discovered that a handful of '99s came in this color as an early introduction, at least on Camaro, not sure about Firebird) so it caught my eye. It was on their new car lot, had a window sticker and all the correct WS6 parts (hood, decals, badge, exhaust, wheels/tires). I didn't think to examine the window sticker, jot down the VIN, nor return to check the SPID (this was on a Sunday, so they were closed) as, again, I didn't realize until years later that this was a car that wasn't supposed to be. That dealer was a pretty big institution in the area, I guess I could see a situation where they created a dealer "WS6 clone" for a customer who then decided not to buy it, hence it ended up on their lot. But I wish I could go back and get that VIN, just to see what that car really was.

it really did pop and looked amazing in the sun light. Pictures never did bring out the full color.
Great car and wish I could purchase it, but never had the funding when it was for sale.

Congratulations on being the new owner of this wonderful car. May I ask for a picture of the door tag number to be posted?
Over on the GMMG registry, your current car is one of the ones missing information. The registry is used to locate and track all GMMG cars. I can provide you a link to the specific site and page if you’d like.
